Despite interest from clubs in the Premier League for his card, it seems that Lautaro Martinez will renew his contract with Inter. The Zikaltres have long wanted to tie their superstar down to another long-term contract at the San Siro, despite Lautaro's current deal expiring in 2026.
Chelsea, Manchester United, as well as Real Madrid in Spain have expressed interest in the Argentine forward. Representatives of English clubs have also held talks with the player's agents over the past months, about a possible transfer to the Premier League. Despite this, it appears that Inter want Lautaro to sign a new contract, preferably before the summer of next year.
According to the Italian media, it seems that Martinez himself is ready to take this step, after a very good start to the season with Inter. Lautaro has scored 13 goals in as many appearances in Serie A, as Inter lead the overall standings. Inter president Beppe Marotta also confirmed the player's desire to sign a new contract. Marotta said:
"Lautaro has expressed on several occasions that he wants to stay here for a long time. He is a player we want at the heart of our project now and in the future. We are sure that the will on both sides is to continue together, and then it becomes easier."
Martinez scored a very important goal in the match against Juventus in the championship, thus equalizing the challenge and giving Inter the opportunity to maintain the first place in the ranking of the Italian championship. Lautaro was declared world champion with the Argentine national team in the World Cup in Qatar and is now looking for the same glory in the arena of club football, helping Inter to triumph in Italy and in Europe.
