Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has insisted that central defender Wesley Fofana is happy at the club, despite some strange activity on social media.
During a press conference, Enzo Maresca answered questions about the removal of all Chelsea photos and mentions from his Instagram page. He admitted he doesn't know why Fofana did this, but expressed confidence that he is happy at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca said:
"I spoke to Wes Fofana every day. He is very, very happy. He is participating in all the sessions with us. From tomorrow, he will be with us and he may get some more minutes on the pitch. We are happy, and he is happy. About Instagram, as you know, I have no idea."
Fofana looked like an exciting signing when he joined Chelsea from Leicester City but has struggled with injuries during his time in London. Chelsea fans will be hoping he stays healthy and gets more playing time this season as he has the potential to be a key player for the club.
With Levi Colwill now out with a serious injury, Chelsea will need Fofana to be more present than ever. It will be interesting to see if Fofana will speak out about why he deleted everything about Chelsea from Instagram, but for now it seems like it's nothing to take too seriously.
