English national team captain Harry Kane has said he will stay at Tottenham this summer, and is 100% focused on helping his club towards success. The striker has thus ended the vicissitudes of his transfer to Manchester City. The Englishman was thought to have reached an unofficial agreement with Tottenham president Daniel Levy for his departure at the end of the summer, but apparently things have taken a different turn.
Kane played his first game of the new season with the Spurs on Sunday, in the 1-0 victory his team recorded against Wolves. The striker entered the green field as a substitute, and Tottenham fans appeared quite happy with the return of their main star in the lineup. In a recent post on social media, Kane stated:
"It was extraordinary to see the support of the fans on Sunday, as well as to read the messages I have received in recent weeks. "I will stay at Tottenham this summer, and I will be 100% focused on helping the team succeed."
The news has certainly made happy and the number 1 of Tottenham bench, Nuno Espirito Santo. The coach said:
"I think since Harry joined the team he has worked hard, and that is what we appreciate. His performance and behavior in training has been fantastic. It's a closed chapter, Harry will stay with us. "
With Kane saying he will stay at Spurs this summer, the question therefore arises as to whether he can leave during the January transfer window. Nuno Santo did not seem bothered by this fact:
"I am not worried at all. He is an option for tomorrow. "My only thought is to make the best decisions to help the team, and Kane is an alternative right now."
