Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is now a free agent and has decided to take matters into his own hands to negotiate a move to a new club. The 28-year-old has sacked his agent and is hopeful of striking a deal with Manchester United. Calvert-Lewin, known for his attacking prowess, was one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League but after a difficult season at Everton, he is now looking for a new opportunity.
After the end of the 2024/25 season, in which he scored just three goals in 26 games, Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains without a club despite having attracted interest from the likes of Newcastle and Manchester United in the past. Although United had expressed an interest in him, being willing to pay up to £50m for him, the situation now looks complicated.
After signing striker Benjamin Sesko for £74m, Manchester United are not in need of another striker. If further moves occur in the squad, the opportunity for Calvert-Lewin to join the club could open up, especially with speculation surrounding the departure of Rasmus Hojlund.
Another option for Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be Aston Villa, who are looking for a replacement for Ollie Watkins. Sunderland are also said to be interested in signing the striker on a free transfer. This would give Calvert-Lewin several options to continue his Premier League career.
