The Danish national team officially qualified for the finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after the 1-0 victory over Austria. The Danes have managed to triumph in all the qualifying matches held so far in Group F, setting a very impressive record. This has been confirmed by the team captain, Simon Kjaer, who strongly believes in Denmark's chances in the world.
Kjaer declared after the victory for Channel 5:
"We have achieved a lot, but it just made us hungrier. We have built a team with a very strong mentality, which constantly wants to improve. "We share the best aspects of the game with each other, and by improving the qualities we have, we can go a long way."
The statistics of the Danes are really scary, as not only have they won all the qualifying matches, but they have not conceded a single goal. Moreover, the representative has averaged over 3 goals per meeting, and 27 goals in total during the 8 confrontations held so far.
It was the goal of Joakim maehle in the 53rd minute of the match that gave the victory to Denmark, after the run and the excellent assist of Thomas Delaney. This was the 8th victory in a row for the Danes who have 2 games left in these qualifiers. Anyway, they are 7 points ahead of second place, Scotland, which automatically makes them qualified.
