Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and several other clubs are expressing interest in RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Lukeba, who is valued at around €60m. Lukeba, one of Europe's most promising players, has made a name for himself during his time in the Bundesliga.
Reports suggest Leipzig are willing to accept offers below the €90m release clause, with the real asking price being closer to €60m. Liverpool have been interested since the summer but will face competition for the 22-year-old's signature.
A source has revealed that "Liverpool like Lukeba, but we should also mention Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle and Real Madrid." Meanwhile, Liverpool risk losing Ibrahima Konate, who is approaching the end of his contract, and Lukeba could be the ideal solution to replace him.
Lukeba looks set to improve Liverpool's defensive depth, but would also be a significant addition to Chelsea, who are in dire need of a boost at the back. It will be interesting to see whether Lukeba will opt for Liverpool or Chelsea, or whether he will look elsewhere for his next move.
