Bayern Munich are in contact with Fulham for talented midfielder Joao Palhinha. The latter is thought to be interested in a move to the German giants. Last summer market, the player was very close to the transfer to Bayern for the figure of 55 million pounds. However, the operation failed on the last day of the market. This time around, new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is again pushing the club to secure the services of the Fulham talent.
The Portuguese joined the English club in 2022, from Sporting CP. The midfielder has appeared 79 times with Fulham, scoring 4 goals last season. The player is also part of the Portuguese national team in the European that will take place in Germany in the coming weeks.
Fulham's deputy sporting director said that Joao Palhinha is a very important player for the future of the club, but any player can leave if the right financial offer comes. Tony Khan said:
"Joao Palhinha is a phenomenal player and I think his adaptation to the Premier League level shows that he is a fantastic player. He is a very important part of Fulham and we are delighted to have him here. I'd like to have him in the squad for as long as possible, but if an offer comes along that makes sense for everyone, then I think that's something that should be considered for every player at the right time."
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany wants to strengthen his team, after the disappointing season that Bayern left behind, ending the championship in third place. The German giants are also rumored to be in pursuit of Crystal Palace ace Adama Wharton. The latter joined Palace from Blackburn just a few months ago.
