Arsenal chiefs are mulling a move for West Ham talent Mohammed Kudus to the Emirates in the January transfer window. The club have long been interested in Kudus, before the latter joined West Ham from Ajax last year for a fee of £40m. Now, the value for the player's card is much higher, and Arsenal leaders could be forced to pay around £90 million to secure the winger's services.
Apart from the need for reinforcements, the approach of Kudus could prove to be quite important for Arsenal, considering the possible departure of Leandro Trossard. According to recent English media reports, Al-Ittihad Arabs are preparing a £40m bid for Arsenal's Belgian services. Last summer the Arab club sought to take the talented Arsenal player on loan but failed to secure a deal.
Kudus, on the other hand, is having a delicate moment at West Ham. The player was sent off with a red card in the match against Tottenham 2 weeks ago, where the team was defeated 4-1. The English Football Association punished the player by banning him for 3 matches, but this punishment can be extended. But despite this incident, it should be noted that the Ghanaian has performed fantastically since his transfer to West Ham. The player has scored 16 goals, as well as 7 assists in a total of 55 appearances with the London club.
Kudus has around 4 years left on his active contract with West Ham, and that complicates the situation a bit for any team looking to secure his signature. Trossard meanwhile has just 1-and-a-half years left on his Arsenal contract, and the Londoners need to pick up the pace ahead of what will be a busy second half of the season for Mikel Arteta's side.
