Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are all chasing talented Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori. The player is active with Bologna, and the club leaders are said to be ready to receive offers for his card, in this summer market. Especially, after the defender's quite good performances at Euro 2024, despite Italy's early elimination.
Calafiori was active for most of last season as a central defender. However, the player also played as a left defender during the period when he was active with Roma and FC Basel. The managers of Arsenal have concretely expressed their interest in the Italian talent. However, many things will depend on Jakub Kiwior who is being targeted by Juventus and Milan. In the event that the latter leaves Arsenal, Mikel Arteta and the leaders of the London club may pursue Calafiori more seriously, to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.
Meanwhile, as for Liverpool, the club's new sporting director, Richard Hughes, is a big fan of Calafiori. Hughes has followed the Italian's development since he was part of Bournemouth and for more, Liverpool need reinforcements on the left side of the defense. Chelsea are also interested in the defender, but the London Blues will in all likelihood be forced to sell players if they want to approach Calafiori.
Bologna have already admitted that the player is on the way out, and are expected to demand over £40 million, for any team interested in the player's services. FC Basel will benefit from 40% of this amount, in case of a potential agreement, since this agreement was foreseen in the agreement between Bologna and the Swiss club. If Calafiori is transferred to a club in the Premier League, it is expected to be known only at the end of Euro 2024.
