Former Italian national team coach Antonio Conte has identified Italy's strengths and weaknesses, which could decide the fate of the grand final of Euro 2020. Conte believes that the representative led by Roberto Mancini can rely on the experience of the players, as well as the high pressure to put England in difficulty. The Inter coach said:
"We know what it means to play in the finals and how to win them. Italy deserves a place in the final after proving to be a more complete team than all the opponents they faced. They are capable of facing different situations, when they are and when they are not in possession of the ball. "They always try to maintain their ideas, identity and style of play, but at the same time adapt the physical, technical and tactical qualities of the opponent."
Conte has spent a great deal of the season he left behind, debating with sports critics about his style of play at Inter. Many of the analysts had their reservations about the strategy pursued by Conte, criticizing the fact that the team relied heavily on counterattack rather than raising stocks from the start. Naturally, the Italian coach was not impressed with Spain's game in the semi-final against Italy:
"Dominance means creating opportunities for scoring and dangerous situations. In this sense, Spanish domination over Italy was not clear. "If ball control is not channeled vertically to get close to the goal or to create a one-on-one situation from the wings, then everything is in vain."
Conte believes that Italy is difficult to beat as the national team is never unprepared, leaves no space, and is able to find complex solutions on the field.
