Chelsea and Liverpool look set to be involved in a fierce race to secure the services of Brighton ace Alexis MacAllister. Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly is considering another plan to bring the midfielder to Stamford Bridge, beating off competition from The Reds.
Boehly is looking to complete a swap deal, offering Brighton Alexis MacAllister, in addition to cash, and the card of Levi Colwill, who currently plays for Brighton on loan from Chelsea. The coach of the "seagulls", De Zerbi, has publicly expressed his desire to work at least 1 more year with Levi Colwill at Amex. The Italian said:
"It is not easy to find another left back with his quality..."
Although Levi Colwill is highly rated at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are willing to finally let him go if it means they can bring the Argentine midfielder to London. Especially considering that the defense department in the blues is somewhat complete, with names like Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly, Benoit Badiashile and Cucurella. In addition, the two clubs are said to have a good relationship at the level of sports leaders, which could make the move easier to complete.
Mac Allister, meanwhile, has an active contract with Brighton until 2025, and has long been rumored to be leaving the club in the summer. This idea has been confirmed by the football player's father himself, who spoke about the prestigious Puroboca:
"Normally next market he (Mac Allister) will play for another club, but we don't know for which one. Talks have started in general, and it is very likely that Alexis will play in another team starting in July."
