Hansi Flick's Germany took a fantastic transfer win over Iceland, 4-0. The trip home, however, does not seem to have been characterized by a festive atmosphere for the Germans.
The representative's plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Edinburgh, leaving many fans and public opinion concerned. Anyway, everything went well in the end for the Germans, who were forced to wait for about 5 hours in the Scottish capital, before arriving home by another flying vehicle.
The cause of the emergency landing was the "malfunction" of the aircraft power generator. The German Football Association was quick enough to update the situation on Twitter to reassure fans. Federation informed:
"Our flight home was diverted to Edinburgh for a security inspection. Everyone is in good health and is waiting for the technical staff who are working calmly and professionally. For now, another coffee! #DieMannschaft. ”
Later in a tweet that followed, the federation announced that another plane had been launched to pick up the players and send them to their homes in Frankfurt and Munich.
Germany is at the top of Group J with 15 points, 4 points more than Armenia in second place, when there are 4 matches left to play. The confrontation with Iceland marked a pretty good performance for the Chelsea duo, Antonio Rudiger and Timo Werner. Both players found their way to the net, while other goal scorers were Bayern players Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane.
It seems that the Flick chapter in the German representative really promises a lot. After two years described as a period of stagnation for the "panzers", the team has regained its freshness. The new feeds in the team are shaping their identity day by day, and this is a guarantee for the future of the German national team.
