Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has said the club are not interested in signing players who are not fully committed.
Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze is set to join rivals Arsenal in a £67.5m deal after coming close to a move to Spurs earlier in the week.
Frank was optimistic about signing the 27-year-old, but Crystal Palace wanted Eze to stay at the club until after their Europa Conference League match against Fredrikstad. However, after reaching an agreement with Arsenal, Eze was left out of Palace's match, which ended in a 1-0 win over the Norwegian side.
This is the second blow for Spurs this summer, after Morgan Gibbs-White chose to sign a new contract with Nottingham Forest, despite Tottenham having activated a release clause in his previous contract.
"In general, I don't want any player who doesn't want to come to this club and wear this fantastic shirt. We don't want them here and I'm sure the fans feel the same way."
Spurs, who won 3-0 at Burnley on the opening day of the season, travel to Manchester City on Saturday. With the transfer window closing on September 1, Frank remained confident in the options to strengthen the squad. He stressed that they are in the transfer market and will look to strengthen the squad, hoping to sign a player before the deadline.
Frank also confirmed that striker Richarlison, who scored twice in the win over Burnley, will remain at the club, despite his links to Palace. Meanwhile, Arsenal host Leeds United on Saturday, with Eberechi Eze expected to undergo a medical with the Gunners over the weekend.
