Southampton manager Will Still has confirmed that Tyler Dibling has returned to full team training ahead of their clash with Ipswich Town. Dibling was a beacon of hope in a poor season for Southampton which saw them relegated to the Sky Bet Championship.
His impressive performances have made the 19-year-old a transfer target for Everton this summer. The club have had three separate bids rejected for him, with the latest being around £37m including add-ons. However, Everton are now considering other options for Dibling, although a move could be reconsidered if Southampton are willing to restart talks. It is undoubtedly a tempting prospect for the player, who could leave Southampton and the Championship to play in the Premier League, the top tier of English football.
Dibling, who has two years left on his contract, was left out of Saints' opening Championship game against Wrexham, but Still has confirmed he could make his first appearance of the season against Kieran McKenna's side on Sunday. The manager said:
"At the moment, he is still a Southampton player - he trains very well. We will make a decision in line with the needs of the team and his fitness," Still said.
"We know there is a lot of noise around some players, but we can't control it. This is part of the transfer process, so we will wait and see."
