Barcelona are keen on Marcus Rashford and want to activate the option to turn his loan spell from Manchester United into a permanent move. The Catalan giants have been impressed by the 27-year-old striker's work ethic and talent since he moved to Spain. Rashford has scored three goals and provided five assists in ten appearances for Barcelona this season, leaving the club's board delighted with his performances.
Initially, Barcelona had concerns due to the club's financial situation and suspected that Manchester United were making the move for other reasons. But after the insistence of Marcus Rashford's brother, they were convinced that there was no problem and that he would be a good investment.
Barcelona are now set to sign Rashford for what they see as a bargain. According to sources, the club will have to pay £25m to sign Marcus Rashford, plus £5m in add-ons, while Manchester United will also demand a share of any future transfer fee.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick had been keen for the club to sign Rashford in the summer and is pleased with his impact on the team. After a disappointing debut, Rashford scored twice in a Champions League match and has caught the eye of England manager Thomas Tuchel, who is hoping for a start in the upcoming match in Latvia.
