Arsenal are considering signing Real Madrid's Rodrygo Goes and AC Milan's Rafael Leao as long-term targets in attack, and are not currently looking for a new centre-forward. The club have strong faith in Viktor Gyokeres, having invested heavily in bringing him in from Sporting Lisbon in the summer. As such, the Gunners are not looking for a centre-forward to replace Gyokeres, but are keeping other strikers in mind who could help the Sweden international.
Sources suggest that the names at the top of Arsenal's list are Rodrygo and Leao, who have long been on the north London club's radar. Arsenal have made changes in attack recently, with Gyokeres not the only addition to Mikel Arteta's front three in the summer. Noni Madueke also joined the team and has played on either wing, while Eberechi Eze has been used in attack when not replacing Martin Odegaard in a more central role.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have been struggling with injuries. This could open up space for a player like Rodrygo or Leao to offer something different and further strengthen that attacking trio. Gyokeres would also benefit from this, as the on-field connection between the 27-year-old and the team's current forwards has not fully worked out so far.
Rodrygo has not been in his best form of late, despite a fine performance against Manchester City, so some Arsenal fans may see this as a risky signing. Meanwhile, Leao has been brilliant for Milan and has the stats to show he can offer high quality in this role. It will be interesting to see if any of these players become a prime target any time soon, or if Arteta can find an internal solution to get more out of the Gyokeres as a centre-forward.
